Champions Cup: Shaheen Afridi leads Pakistan Gold into thrilling final
Haider Ali’s blistering unbeaten fifty secures a 5-wicket victory over Whites to seal qualification on net run rate
MULTAN — Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led from the front as Sparco Paints Pakistan Gold secured a commanding five-wicket victory over UOL Pakistan Whites, booking their spot in the final of the National Champions Cup 2026-27 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Needing to chase down 173 within 32.1 overs to surpass their rivals on net run rate, Pakistan Gold comfortably reached the target in 28 overs with 132 balls to spare.
Shaheen set the tone after electing to field, delivering an incisive spell of fast bowling that yielded 3 wickets for 26 runs in his eight overs.
Spinners Mubasir Khan and Faisal Akram backed him with two wickets each to bundle out Pakistan Whites for 172. In reply, middle-order batsman Haider Ali spearheaded the chase with an aggressive unbeaten 69 off 48 deliveries to steer his side over the line. Pakistan Gold will now take on Shadab Khan-led Rivaj Pakistan Greens in the tournament final on Tuesday.
