{"id":971,"date":"2023-10-16T03:41:45","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T03:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/english\/?p=971"},"modified":"2023-10-16T03:41:45","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T03:41:45","slug":"big-cuts-govt-slashes-petrol-price-by-rs40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/english\/big-cuts-govt-slashes-petrol-price-by-rs40\/","title":{"rendered":"BIG CUTS: Govt slashes petrol price by Rs40"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The federal government has decreased the price of petrol by Rs40 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs15 in line with fluctuations in global oil prices and appreciation of the rupee against the US dollar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@urduofficial9236?sub_confirmation=1\"> finance ministry<\/a> statement said: \u201cOwing to the decreasing trend of petroleum prices in the international market and due to appreciation of Pak Rupee against the US$, the government has decided to revise the existing consumer prices of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@NAYAUJALA?sub_confirmation=1\">petroleum products<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.tribune.com.pk\/media\/images\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-10-15-at-11-55-31-PM1697397075-0\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-10-15-at-11-55-31-PM1697397075-0.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the announcement, the price of petrol has been set at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nayaujala4\">Rs283.38<\/a> per litre while HSD is now available at Rs303.18 per litre. The new prices are effective from midnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more:<a href=\"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/2023\/05\/23\/oil-prices\/\">Oil prices rise on outlook for higher gasoline demand, tighter supply<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@urduofficial9236?sub_confirmation=1\">Petrol<\/a> is mainly used in motorbikes and cars and is an alternative to compressed natural gas (CNG), especially in Punjab, where locally produced gas is not available at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/nayaujala2018\/\">CNG filling stations.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HSD is primarily used in agriculture and transport sectors and any reduction in its price may have a positive impact on inflation.<\/p>\n<p>On October 1, the caretaker government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs8 &#8212; from Rs331.38 per litre to Rs323.38.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read:<a href=\"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/2023\/09\/04\/ppp-ask-for-df-for-sindh\/\">PPP asks CEC to restore funding for Sindh\u2019s flood victims<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the rate of HSD was decreased by Rs11 &#8212; from Rs329.18 per litre to Rs318.18.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistani rupee on Friday\u00a0created history by maintaining its winning streak for 27 consecutive working days for the first time in three years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It hit over a three-month high below Rs278 against the US dollar in the inter-bank market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the past 27 working days, the currency has cumulatively regained 10.62%, or Rs29.48, compared to the record low of Rs307.10\/$ hit on September 5, 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government has decreased the price of petrol by Rs40 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs15 in line with fluctuations in global oil prices and appreciation of the rupee against the US dollar.
