{"id":738,"date":"2023-06-03T13:20:06","date_gmt":"2023-06-03T13:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/english\/?p=738"},"modified":"2023-06-03T13:52:26","modified_gmt":"2023-06-03T13:52:26","slug":"pti-leader-dr-yasmin-rashid-discharge-from-jinnah-house-attack-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/english\/pti-leader-dr-yasmin-rashid-discharge-from-jinnah-house-attack-case\/","title":{"rendered":"PTI Leader Dr Yasmin Rashid Discharge From Jinnah House Attack Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Yasmin Rashid has been discharged from the Jinnah House attack case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore announced the verdict and rejected the police&#8217;s plea seeking physical remand of the PTI leader.<\/p>\n<p>According to a copy of the court order, the investigating officer had requested 14-day physical remand of Dr Rashid for photogrammetry, voice match tests and recovery of mobile phones.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 368px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-738-1\" width=\"368\" height=\"656\" loop preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LHR-DR-YASSEEM-RASHID.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LHR-DR-YASSEEM-RASHID.mp4\">https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LHR-DR-YASSEEM-RASHID.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>It added that \u201cperusal of record\u201d revealed that neither Dr Rashid\u00a0 is nominated in the first information report (FIR) nor involved through supplementary statement.<\/p>\n<p>READ THIS:<a href=\"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/2023\/05\/24\/govt-considering-banning-pti-khawaja-asif\/\">Govt considering banning PTI: Khawaja Asif<\/a><\/p>\n<p>She was summoned in this case on the disclosure of co-accused which has no \u201cevidentiary value in the eye of law\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince no incriminating material is available on record to connect her with the commission of offence, therefore, request of investigating officer is turned down and she is accordingly discharged from instant case,\u201d the order added.<\/p>\n<p>The order further said that the PTI leader be released immediately \u201cif not required in any other case\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She was arrested by the Lahore police on May 17, under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) following countrywide violent protests.<\/p>\n<p>READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/nayaujala.com\/englishlish\/2023\/06\/01\/ch-pervez-ilahi-arrested\/\">Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Arrested in Lahore<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the cases against Dr Rashid were registered at Sarwar Road, Gulberg, and Shadman police stations in Lahore for her alleged involvement in the riots.
