Pakistan\u2019s federal government debt has reached an all-time high, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). As of May 2025, the central government’s total debt stood at a record Rs76.045 trillion.<\/p>\n

The SBP documents reveal that between June 2024 and May 2025, the federal government\u2019s debt surged by Rs8.312 trillion. During the first eleven months of the fiscal year 2024-25 (July 2024 to May 2025), the debt rose by Rs7.131 trillion.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, in just one month \u2014 from April to May 2025 \u2014 the government\u2019s debt increased by Rs1.109 trillion.<\/p>\n
