Lahore: Pakistan are batting in their first innings against South Africa in the opening Test match at the Gaddafi Stadium, reaching 199 for 4 at tea.
Captain Shan Masood won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq started the innings, but Abdullah fell early for just 2 runs off Kagiso Rabada’s third delivery.
Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq built a solid 161-run partnership, stabilizing the innings. Shan Masood scored 76 before being dismissed, while Imam-ul-Haq missed his century by just 7 runs, falling for 93.
Shortly before tea, Saud Shakeel was caught on the first ball he faced.
For South Africa, Senuran Muthusamy took two wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Prenelan Subrayen claimed one each.
