Court Orders Blocking of 27 YouTube Channels, Including PTI’s Official Channel

Islamabad: FIA probe leads to action over alleged anti-state content

An Islamabad local court has ordered the blocking of 27 YouTube channels, including the official YouTube channel of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), over allegedly spreading anti-state content.

Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah issued a two-page written order following a hearing on a petition filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The court reviewed the material and accepted the FIA’s claims that the content violated national laws.

According to the court order:

• FIA launched an inquiry on June 2, 2025

• The court heard arguments from the investigating officer

• Upon reviewing the available record, the court ruled the case punishable under the PECA Act and Pakistan Penal Code (PPC)

The court directed YouTube’s designated official to immediately block all 27 channels listed in the petition.
