Israeli Airstrikes in Tehran: Senior Leader Ali Larijani and Basij Chief Killed

TEHRAN – In a significant escalation of regional tensions, high-profile Iranian political figure Ali Larijani and Basij Force Commander Ghulam Reza Sulaimani have been killed in targeted Israeli airstrikes. Iranian state media and official sources have confirmed the deaths of both strategic leaders.

Targeted Strike on Tehran Hideout

According to international media reports, Israeli Air Force fighter jets executed a precision strike on a covert location in Tehran where Ali Larijani was reportedly stationed. Confirmation of his passing was also signaled via a post on Larijani’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating, “The servant of God has returned to God.”

Israel Identifies Larijani as ‘De Facto Leader’

Israeli officials have categorized Larijani as the “de facto leader” of Iran, asserting that he had assumed practical leadership responsibilities following the reported demise of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel described this operation as a pivotal move in its broader objective to dismantle the current Iranian governing structure.

Basij Commander Ghulam Reza Sulaimani Eliminated

In a separate tactical operation, Israel targeted General Ghulam Reza Sulaimani, the head of Iran’s Basij Force. As a top-tier commander responsible for internal security, Sulaimani’s death marks a substantial blow to Iran’s domestic defense and security apparatus.
