Karachi: Investigations are underway into the mysterious death of model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was recently discovered in her apartment located in Defence, Karachi. According to the police, the body appears to be several months old, and initial findings suggest she may have died in October 2024.

A special police team, including SSP South Karachi, police surgeons, and forensic experts, visited the apartment for examination. SSP South stated that no signs of violence or weapons were found at the scene. He further revealed that the flat had no traces of blood, and the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
“The exact cause of death remains unclear. Post-mortem has been conducted but the report has been sealed for now. The final cause will be determined after chemical examiner’s report,” said SSP South.

According to officials, the apartment’s electricity was disconnected since October 2024, and Humaira’s mobile phone record also shows no activity after that month. Furthermore, the refrigerator was filled with expired food items, indicating the flat had been abandoned for months.
Investigations have also revealed that Humaira last paid rent in May 2024, and no contact was made with her family or friends since then. Police traced the apartment owner who provided the contact number of her relatives. Upon reaching out, the family stated that they had cut ties with her two years ago and had not been in touch since.

Interestingly, none of the neighbours reported any complaints or unusual activity, raising further questions about the long delay in discovering her death.
Authorities continue to investigate the case while awaiting the chemical analysis report to ascertain the exact circumstances of Humaira Asghar’s death.
