PSX Gains Momentum as Government Accelerates Digital Asset
KSE-100 index pushes upward past key resistance while policymakers finalize regulatory sandbox for AI-driven payments
KARACHI/ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s financial and technology landscape witnessed strong synchronized activity on Monday, marked by bullish trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and institutional acceleration of national digital finance regulations.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index advanced over 360 points during morning trade, maintaining firm footing around the 180,470-point mark, driven by aggressive buying in commercial banks, energy, and tech services.
Simultaneously, federal authorities are moving to institutionalize the country’s virtual assets and digital finance landscape. Following a record $41.6 billion in workers’ remittances in FY2025-26, the government has stepped up testing protocols via a newly introduced regulatory sandbox designed for AI-powered payment gateways and regulated tokenization models.
Financial analysts note that establishing transparent legal and technological guardrails will be critical to sustaining foreign capital inflows and bridging conventional capital markets with the rapidly growing fintech ecosystem.
