Pakistan Clinch T20 Series Against South Africa by 2–1

Pakistan sealed the three-match T20 series against South Africa 2–1 after a convincing six-wicket win in the third and final match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing a target of 140, Pakistan reached the mark with six wickets in hand. Babar Azam anchored the innings with a superb 68 runs off 47 balls, hitting nine boundaries. His composed knock on a challenging pitch guided Pakistan to victory.

Earlier, Pakistan had a shaky start as Saim Ayub fell for a duck, while Sahibzada Farhan scored 19 and captain Salman Agha made 33. Usman Khan struck the winning shot on the last ball of the 19th over to complete the chase.

In the first innings, Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the contest. Shaheen Shah Afridi gave Pakistan the perfect start by removing Quinton de Kock and Pretorius in the very first over. Debutant Usman Tariq claimed two wickets, including Brevis and Reeza Hendricks. Shaheen took three wickets, while Usman Tariq and Faheem Ashraf bagged two each; Mohammad Nawaz picked up one.

The Gaddafi Stadium was packed with 32,437 fans cheering for the home side. Big screens displayed “House Full” and “Thank You Lahore” messages in celebration of the victory.

Babar Azam was named Player of the Match for his outstanding innings, while Faheem Ashraf received the Player of the Series award.
